The short answerGo by undertone, not how fair or deep your skin is. Warm undertones glow in antique and yellow gold with red, green and coral stones. Cool undertones suit bright, polished gold, crystals and pink or blue stones. Neutral undertones can wear almost anything. Gold flatters every Indian skin tone; the finish and stones fine-tune it.

What flatters each

Deep, medium and fair skin

Every depth of skin can wear gold beautifully. Deeper skin tones make bright gold and bold colour pop; medium tones suit both antique and bright; fairer tones often look softest in bright gold with pastel stones. Treat these as starting points, not rules.

The outfit still decides

Skin tone fine-tunes the choice, but your outfit's zari and colours come first. See our guide to antique gold vs bright gold.
